Seeking Industry Leaders! Nominations Open Until March 3
The 2024 Quanzhou Outstanding Contribution Award for the Culinary Industry has officially launched today, under the guidance of the Quanzhou Task Force for the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy application and organized by the Quanzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce. This prestigious initiative aims to recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to Quanzhou's culinary sector and the global promotion of its gastronomic heritage. By celebrating innovation and leadership, the award seeks to highlight trailblazers who will strengthen Quanzhou's bid to become a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.
Who Can Apply?
The award is open to two categories of outstanding individuals:
1. Industry Pioneers
Visionary leaders within the culinary supply chain—including food production, processing, and hospitality—who have demonstrated exceptional innovation, driven employment growth, and pioneered technological advancements in the industry.
2. Cultural Ambassadors
Individuals dedicated to preserving, researching, and promoting Quanzhou's culinary heritage on the global stage. This includes chefs, historians, and cultural figures who have played a key role in shaping, documenting, and sharing the unique identity of "Quanzhou Flavours."

Selection Process
A jury composed of government officials, industry experts, and academic scholars will evaluate the nominees. Candidates can be either publicly nominated or self-nominated. The final awardees will be selected through a rigorous review and voting process.
Eligibility Criteria
Nominees must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Leadership in the Culinary Industry: Hold a key leadership position within Quanzhou's culinary sector (including food production, processing, and hospitality), with a strong track record in business success, employment generation, and an unblemished industry reputation.
Industry Impact & Innovation: Be a recognized leader with notable achievements in advancing the culinary sector, demonstrating innovation, influence, and industry-wide respect.
Cultural Preservation & Global Promotion: Have made outstanding contributions to the preservation, evolution, and international promotion of Quanzhou cuisine and its cultural significance—through research, historical documentation, or global outreach efforts.

How to Apply?
The selection process consists of three phases:
1. Nomination & Application Submission
2. Evaluation & Selection
3. Official Award Ceremony
Steps to Apply:
· Download the application form via the official "Quanzhou Flavours" WeChat account. Navigate to the "Culinary Figures" menu.
· Submit the completed form via email to the organizing committee at [email protected].
· Deadline: March 3, 2025.
The jury will complete evaluations and scoring by March 7, with the final award recipients announced later in the month. Winners will be honoured at a formal awards ceremony in late March.
