The Quanzhou Municipal Government has prioritized the city's bid for UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy status, incorporating it into its broader strategy for industrial transformation and international engagement. The Work Plan for Quanzhou's UNESCO "City of Gastronomy" Application (Quanzhou Office [2024] No. 34), issued on June 6, 2024, outlined the formation of industry associations as a key component of this initiative. City leaders have convened multiple coordination meetings to drive progress.
The establishment of the Quanzhou Culinary Industry Promotion Association is set to strengthen collaboration across agriculture, food processing, hospitality, and culinary tourism, creating a fully integrated "farm-to-table" value chain. By fostering industry-wide cooperation, resource sharing, and innovation, the association will inject momentum into the sustainable growth of Quanzhou's culinary sector.
The organizing committee extended an open invitation to enterprises and individuals to join the association. By bringing together industry leaders and stakeholders, the association aims to advance Quanzhou's global culinary recognition, support its UNESCO bid, and contribute to the city's long-term economic and cultural development.
