On September 3rd, Fujian's first tea industry carbon neutrality research institute (hereafter referred to as the "Carbon Neutrality Research Institute") was officially inaugurated in Anxi County. The institute is dedicated to advancing research in the fields of carbon neutrality technologies, products, models, and policies for the tea industry. Its mission includes promoting the transformation and application of carbon reduction technologies, offering policy advice on carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, providing green transformation solutions for tea companies, and supporting the sustainable development and carbon neutrality efforts of the tea industry.
The Carbon Neutrality Research Institute was jointly established by the College of Tea Science at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and the Anxi County Science and Technology Bureau. To ensure high-level research capabilities, the institute has appointed Professor Lin Wenxiong, a doctoral advisor at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and Vice Chair of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Plant Production, as its director.
During the unveiling ceremony, the institute also signed a partnership agreement with Fujian Niannianxiang Tea Co. Ltd., marking the launch of the first carbon neutrality pilot tea garden. The institute will collaborate with the company to conduct preliminary carbon neutrality research and technological innovations in the tea industry.
